La Castagna

La Castagna - Entrance

La Castagna or "Chestnut" is a three-story house with roof terrace, that has been recently restored to give you all the comforts of a modern home in the picturesque surroundings of a medieval stone village.

From the small piazza beside the church, a short walk through the narrow medieval streets will bring you to the house.

The front door opens into the hallway leading up to the fully equipped kitchen-dinning room. The beautifully tiled main bathroom with vaulted ceiling is off the hallway.

From the kitchen you enter the living room with a characteristic log fireplace, comfortable furniture, radio and a lovely sofa-bed that sleeps 2 people comfortably.

On the same floor, beside the kitchen, there is also a large utility room with ample storage space for your stay.

The stairway in the living room brings you up to the two bedrooms.

The master bedroom has an en-suite, while the second bedroom (with 2 single beds) leads onto the private sun terrace from which you have wonderful views of the surrounding hills and the sounds of the local stream and the church bells.

The sun terrace is the perfect spot to have breakfast or to enjoy a glass of wine in the summer evenings (table and chairs are provided).

The house has also access to a large communal terrace on the roof where you can enjoy a lovely view of the surrounding valley.

This property has been recently renovated with tiled and wooden floors throughout. It provides all the modern comforts in the kitchen (i.e. gas cooker, kettle and toaster), the sitting room (radio and CD player) and the comfortable bedrooms (linen and towels are provided), but it also retains its charming character of a medieval house perched in the Tuscan hills, with its log fireplace, the sunny roof terrace and the vaulted ceiling in the bathroom.
